The Public Authority’s Advisory Committee makes recommendations to improve IHSS and Public Authority services.
The Advisory Committee is a governmental body comprised of 6 current or past IHSS Consumers, 2 home care Providers, 2 advocates, and 1 person with expertise in disability rights, advocacy, or government, who have been approved by the Board of Supervisors (which serves as the Public Authority’s governing body).
The full Advisory Committee meets monthly (except in August) at 1:30 pm on the first Thursday of the month at Eastmont Town Center, 6955 Foothill Blvd, First Floor, Oakland, CA 94605.

ADVISORY COMMITTEE SEEKING NEW MEMBERS
If you are a current or former IHSS Consumer living in Alameda County, please consider applying to join our Advisory Committee. We are currently accepting applications for ONE position for an IHSS Consumer, 60 years or older, ONE position for a Specialist, ONE position for a Family Member Provider, and we have TWO vacant positions for Consumer Alternates. Our Advisory Committee is known for its advocacy activities and is mandated to make recommendations to improve the IHSS program and Public Authority services. The Committee is considered among the best informed and most influential among all the Public Authorities in California. The Committee meets on the first Thursday of each month (except August) at 1:30 PM. Members receive a $25 stipend for attending each Advisory Committee meeting and are reimbursed for actual expenses such as travel and additional attendant care at meetings.
