The Public Authority’ Advisory Board provides general oversight of the activities of the Public Authority and makes recommendations to improve IHSS and Public Authority services.
The Advisory Board is a governmental body comprised of 6 current or past IHSS consumers, 2 home care workers, 2 advocates, and 1 person with expertise in disability rights, advocacy, or government, who have been approved by the Board of Supervisors (which serves as the Public Authority’s governing body).
The full Advisory Board meets monthly (except in August) at 1:30 pm on the first Thursday of the month at Eastmont Town Center, 6955 Foothill Blvd, 3rd Floor, Oakland, CA 94605.

ADVISORY BOARD SEEKING NEW MEMBERS
If you are a current or former IHSS consumer living in Alameda County, please consider applying to join our Advisory Board. We are currently accepting applications for TWO positions for an IHSS Consumer 60 years or older and one position for an Advocate for Seniors, and have two vacant positions for a Consumer Alternate. Our Advisory Board is know for its advocacy activities and is mandated to make recommendations to improve the IHSS program and Public Authority services. The Board is considered the among the best informed and most influential among all the public authorities in California. The Board meets on the first Thursday of each month (except August) at 1:30 PM. Members are paid $25 for attending each Advisory Board meeting and are reimbursed for actual expenses such as travel and additional attendant care at meetings).
